1. General
Media representatives wishing to cover any official FIDE event must apply through the media accreditation form provided below. Online application is the **only** official method to register for media access — submissions via email, letter, or fax will not be processed. There is also no on-site registration available at event venues.
The accreditation portal will remain open during the full duration of the event. However, **last-minute applications** or those submitted after the event begins may be rejected.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Applicants will receive confirmation of acceptance or rejection via email. Approved accreditations remain valid for the **entire event period.**
2. Eligibility
Press accreditation is strictly limited to professional journalists and media representatives working with **recognized media organizations**. Applicants must submit an **official assignment letter** confirming their role and authorization to cover the event.
Accreditation priority is given to news agencies, television networks, daily newspapers, sports publications, and established chess media.
Independent creators (bloggers, YouTubers, freelancers, etc.) not affiliated with professional media may be considered **on a case-by-case basis** if they can demonstrate a credible track record, ethical integrity, and alignment with FIDE and IOC values.
3. Categories
Press accreditations are issued under the following categories:
- A: Non-rights holding television broadcasters and other camera crews
- B: Photographers
- C: Members of the written press
4. Photo Requirements
Applicants must upload a recent digital color photo meeting the following specifications:
- File format: PDF
- File size: not larger than 1MB
- Plain neutral background
- Only the applicant should be visible in the photo
5. Final Considerations
Media accreditation is valid only for the specific event applied for and cannot be used for other tournaments. FIDE reserves full discretion to approve, reject, or request further information for any application without providing justification.
Accreditation may be revoked if misused, loaned to another person, or if the holder’s behavior is deemed inconsistent with FIDE’s standards of conduct.
