Nino Batsiashvili, born in 1987 in Batumi, Georgia, is a chess grandmaster and one of her country’s most accomplished female players. She is a three-time Georgian Women’s Chess Champion, winning titles in 2013, 2015, and 2018. Her international career includes notable achievements such as second place at the 2015 European Individual Women’s Championship and gold with Georgia, along with an individual bronze on board four, at the 2015 Women’s World Team Chess Championship. That same year, she drew against World Champion Magnus Carlsen at the Qatar Masters Open, demonstrating her ability to compete with elite players.
Batsiashvili earned her Grandmaster title in 2018, cementing her status among the world’s strongest female competitors. As of September 2025, she holds a classical rating of 2469, with rapid and blitz ratings of 2346 and 2247, respectively. Known for a versatile opening repertoire, she remains an active and respected figure in international women’s chess.
